Veterans and their communities, stronger together.
A companion organization to Red Hook VFW Post 7765, HRPA raises funds, secures grants, and builds programs that support Veterans while strengthening the Hudson Valley community we all share.
Founded in 2025 · A 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Red Hook, New York
Our mission
Hudson River Patriots Alliance, Inc. is built on a simple belief: veterans and their communities are stronger together. As a companion organization to Red Hook VFW Post 7765, we work to raise funds, secure grants, and build programs that support veterans while strengthening the broader Hudson Valley community.
Unlike traditional veterans’ organizations that serve primarily as membership clubs, Hudson River Patriots Alliance intentionally casts a wider circle — welcoming veterans, their families, and all community members who share a commitment to service, civic engagement, and community participation. Our goal is not merely to administer grants, but to build lasting community infrastructure and meaningful connection.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every donation is tax-deductible and directly supports our mission to serve those who have served.
What we stand for
- Fostering patriotism, preserving history, supporting charitable causes, and promoting education
- Strengthening bonds of camaraderie among members, especially Veterans
- Encouraging community service and cultivating a spirit of unity in the local area
- Advocating for and assisting Veterans across the Hudson Valley region
- Honoring and preserving the legacy of those who have served and passed on
- Upholding the principles of the U.S. Constitution and its laws
Honoring Red Hook’s history of service, from the American Revolution to today
Operation Never Forget is HRPA’s tribute to every Red Hook resident who has answered the call to serve, from the Revolutionary War through Vietnam, 9/11, and the wars that followed. Over five days, at sites across Red Hook, we will bring together memorials, ceremonies, and an education series that tell the full story of service from our town.
The anchors of the event are The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall®, a three-fifths scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. that stands six feet tall at its center, stretches nearly 300 feet, and carries the names of all 58,000-plus Americans who gave their lives in Vietnam, and The Some Gave All Moving Tribute, honoring those lost from September 11, 2001 to the present day.
Many Hudson Valley families have never been able to make the trip to Washington. This is our chance to bring the Wall to them, to welcome home our local Vietnam Veterans, and, working with local historians and schools, to give a new generation a place to learn that the people who served came from this town, walked these streets, and rest in these cemeteries.
An event of this size takes an entire community. We need volunteers to help set up and take down the Wall, staff the name-locator tent, and keep watch throughout the visit, and we need sponsors and donors to cover the costs of hosting it. Every gift is tax-deductible.

The Some Gave All Moving Tribute
Traveling alongside the Wall is a second memorial honoring the men and women lost from September 11, 2001 to the present day, including those who fell in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the wider Global War on Terrorism, and the first responders who ran toward danger on 9/11. Spanning 76 feet, the tribute stands as a reminder that the cost of freedom did not end with Vietnam.
250 years of service from one town
Red Hook sent its sons and daughters to the Continental Army, the Civil War, both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, and the Global War on Terrorism. Operation Never Forget’s education series, developed with local history partners, will bring those stories forward through talks, exhibits, and school programs during the Wall week and beyond.
What to expect during the visit
- A motorcycle escort welcoming the Wall into Red Hook, with local riders invited to join
- Opening and closing ceremonies with color guards, wreath layings, and Taps
- An honor guard standing watch whenever the Wall is open, so every name is never left alone
- Guided visits for area schools so students can learn the history firsthand. Open to partnering with civic groups, universities, and colleges to deepen community engagement and support curriculum-aligned learning.
- Counselors on hand for Veterans and families, because the Wall can be an emotional experience
- The area within the flag line is designated as hallowed ground. To preserve its dignity, smoking, food, beverages, and pets are prohibited.
